Austin Company Offsites: Flights, Venues and Seasons

Which offices can fly nonstop to Austin (AUS) for a company offsite, plus where to meet while the convention center is rebuilt, activities and months.

Company Offsite Planning for Distributed Teams October 27, 2026 · 6 min read · Updated October 27, 2026

Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS) has a nonstop to 60 of the other 72 US airports Midway keeps full route files for. The twelve without one are Anchorage, Boise, Hartford, Honolulu, LaGuardia, Maui, Norfolk, Richmond, San Antonio, Spokane, Tucson and West Palm Beach. Nashville reaches 65 of the 72 and Denver all of them, as the Nashville offsite profile and the Denver offsite comparison show. So Austin works for most rosters, but less often for a team with several offices on the East Coast.

Each count comes from Midway’s route data as of 26 October 2026, for flights from October 2026 to September 2027. A route counts if it runs in at least one month, in either airport’s list. Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are left out. West Palm Beach has no Austin route in either list, under its DJT code or as PBI, so it stays among the twelve.

Neighborhoods, the airport ride and Hill Country day trips are in the Austin city profile, and flight times from 20 US metro areas are in the Nashville, Austin and Scottsdale flight comparison. This page covers what an offsite adds on top: which offices fly in, where the team meets, and which months to pick.

US offices with a nonstop to Austin

AUS’s own list holds around 85 US airports, and around 105 destinations once the international routes are added. A few of the US entries run in a single month only: Gainesville and Lexington in October 2026, and Baton Rouge, Columbia (Missouri) and Fayetteville (Arkansas) in November. Those look like one-off flights rather than routes to plan an offsite on.

Southwest flies around 65 of the US routes and is the only airline on around 30 of them. Delta is second, on around 35. On the West Coast, Seattle has Alaska, Delta and Southwest, San Francisco has Delta, United and Southwest, and Los Angeles has American, Delta, United and Southwest. Oakland, Sacramento, Burbank, Ontario, Orange County and Reno have Southwest and no other airline.

On the East Coast, New York offices fly from JFK (American and Delta) or Newark (United), since LaGuardia has no Austin nonstop. Newark, Washington Dulles and Houston Intercontinental have United only, and Charlotte, Philadelphia and Dallas-Fort Worth have American only. A second airline gives an office a second schedule to book against. The route data lists the airlines on a route but not fares, so it cannot say how much that changes the price.

Of the 60, 51 have a nonstop in every month from October 2026 to April 2027. Charleston flies to Austin only from March 2027, Savannah in June and July only, Fort Myers from November to April and Palm Springs from November to June. Cleveland appears only in October 2026 and Louisville only in April 2027. An office that loses its nonstop in your month connects instead, which the budget breakdown by flight access works through line by line.

Offices outside the US

AUS has a nonstop to London Heathrow on British Airways, Frankfurt on Lufthansa and Amsterdam on KLM in every month of the data. Delta adds Paris Charles de Gaulle from March 2027. The flights into Austin take around 10h30 from London and Amsterdam and around 11h00 from Frankfurt, so a European office probably needs an arrival night before the first session.

Toronto Pearson has Air Canada and Porter in every month. Vancouver and Montreal have Air Canada in October 2026 and from May to September 2027, and Calgary has WestJet from May 2027. Travelers from those Canadian airports clear US immigration before boarding, as the Toronto city profile explains. Mexico City has Aeroméxico all year, at around 2h20 to 2h40, and Panama City has Copa in every month.

Months and seasons

From October 2026 to April 2027, Austin’s US list runs from around 65 airports in February to around 75 in April, and around 60 are listed in every one of those months. The window stops at April because Frontier, Sun Country and Avelo schedules end there in the data, Allegiant’s after May and Southwest’s after August. September 2027 drops to around 35, and 25 of the 27 US routes listed in August and not September are flown only by Southwest. So check the month in Midway again before booking an offsite after April.

The weather narrows the choice further. NOAA’s 1991–2020 climate normals for the Austin-Bergstrom airport give an average high of around 73°F in March, 80°F in April, 83°F in October and 72°F in November, against 96°F in July and 97°F in August. May is the wettest month in the normals, at around 5 inches of rain.

Two events land in the mild months. SXSW runs from March 15 to 21, 2027, and the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix is at Circuit of the Americas from October 22 to 24, 2027. The ACL Festival took two October weekends in Zilker Park in 2026, and its 2027 dates are not out yet. Ask for hotel rates on those dates and on the weeks around them before you settle on the month.

Venues for the working sessions

The Austin Convention Center closed in April 2025 for a rebuild, and the city’s redevelopment site gives spring 2029 for the new building. The convention center takes proposals for 2029 and later. Until then, its sister venue, the Palmer Events Center, stays open for bookings at 900 Barton Springs Road, next to Butler Park, Auditorium Shores and Lady Bird Lake, with a 1,200-space garage, according to its site.

Visit Austin, the city’s convention and visitors bureau, lists the Palmer Events Center at 70,000 square feet of exhibit space that splits into two halls. It counts more than 1 million square feet of hotel meeting space and 51,000 hotel rooms citywide, 15,000 of them downtown, and its staff take requests for proposals from planners. For a team of a few dozen, a hotel meeting room is probably closer to the right size than an exhibit hall.

The Bullock Texas State History Museum, at 1800 North Congress Avenue, rents its spaces for four-hour events between 5

p.m. and midnight. Its Board Room seats 18, and the Austin Room (6,500 square feet) up to 350 seated or 400 theater-style. Daytime events are possible only in the Austin Room and the two theaters, so the museum fits a team dinner better than a day of sessions. None of these venue pages lists a rental price, so the venue row in your budget is a quote.

Team activities

The Texas State Capitol, at the top of Congress Avenue, runs free guided tours of around 40 minutes. Parties of more than 10 are asked to call ahead, and groups over 40 are split across several tour times. Down the avenue, the Congress Avenue Bridge holds a colony of an estimated 1.5 million bats, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department lists boat viewing seven nights a week from March through October.

For a volunteering afternoon, Visit Austin’s CSR meetings page lists organizations that take corporate groups, among them the Central Texas Food Bank, Keep Austin Beautiful and The Trail Conservancy, which works along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. Circuit of the Americas also lists karting and partner-run track days on its site.

Hotel rates for your dates come from quotes. As a ceiling, the GSA per diem rates for Austin (Travis County) in fiscal year 2027 are $184 a night for lodging in every month and $80 a day for meals and incidental expenses. Those are federal reimbursement limits, not hotel quotes.

Comparing Austin with other cities

The offsite destination comparison template has Austin in a filled-in example next to Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, Toronto and Nashville, for four offices including Vancouver. The cluster page has the full method, from team roster to shortlist.

Open Midway with your offices’ airports to see whether Austin is on the shared list in the month you plan to travel. It takes up to six departure airports and shows routes and flight times, not venue availability.
